Baltimore Piano Factory

The History of Baltimore Piano Factory Pianos

The Baltimore Piano Factory was actually a line of pianofortes produced by John Wise and Brother. The pianofortes were produced at the company’s Baltimore, Maryland location and moved several times throughout the city as the company grew. Unfortunately very little is known about these pianofortes, as the production of them ceased in the mid-1800s.

About Baltimore Piano Factory Pianos

The Baltimore Piano Factory line was considered to be very on-trend during their time and casings came in a variety of the most popular fashions of the day. These pianofortes boasted quality action and were marketed to amateur pianists. [1]

Restoring a Baltimore Piano Factory Piano

Because this line of pianofortes is so old, and there were very few made, it is extremely rare to find surviving instruments today. There is no set market value for Baltimore Piano Factory instruments, but that does not mean that they are not valuable or worthy of restoration.

Please contact Lindeblad if you think you are in possession of a Baltimore Piano Factory pianoforte. We would value the opportunity to talk you through the restoration options for such a treasure.
