R.S. Howard

The History of R.S. Howard Pianos

R.S. Howard was established in 1902 and was located in New York City. R.S. and C.R. Howard founded the company but sold it to the Janssen Piano Company in the 1920s. R.S. Howard pianos met the same unfortunate fate of many other pianos at the time of the Great Depression, and the line’s serial numbers stop in 1932. [1]

About R.S. Howard Pianos

Unfortunately, there is not much information available about R.S. Howard pianos, and this line should not be confused with a “Howard” line produced by Baldwin.

Restoring an R.S. Howard Piano

Again, there is little information about R.S. Howard pianos today, but some unrestored instruments can be found online in the $300 - $600 range. If you have an R.S. Howard piano, or other antique piano that you would like to know more about or restore, please contact Lindeblad’s experts.
