This 1936 Steinway Model S is currently undergoing a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our shop. As a Golden Era instrument, it possesses the exceptional foundational quality that made Steinway the standard of the world, and our craftsmen are meticulously bringing it back to its original glory.
Because the original soundboard remains in excellent condition with zero cracks, we are carefully preserving and refinishing it. To ensure the piano performs at the absolute highest level, we are performing a full mechanical rebuild. This includes a completely new action (new hammers, shanks, flanges, wippens, and back checks), a new pin block, new strings, and a rebronzed harp.
Visually, the classic Mahogany cabinet is being fully refinished to a stunning Wood Tone Closed finish, and all brass hardware is being polished to a brilliant shine.
