We took home a floor template to check the fit, but the 'finalist' list still had four stunning Steinways on it and it was impossible to pick one. Music is a hobby of mine, my stress relief. When the time came to upgrade from my upright piano to a grand piano I started off with doing research online. By chance I can across Lindeblad Piano Restoration. Buying a piano online seemed crazy to me given that it was such a large investment. I had read many reviews online about Lindeblad Piano Restoration and they were extremely positive. With that, I decided to contact them and inquire about several piano’s they were restoring. At first I was very reluctant. Todd Lindeblad recommended we have a zoom call and discuss my concerns. After an hour long zoom call my mind was at ease and I put a deposit on a piano that was in the process of restoration. The restoration process finished a month ahead of time and was professionally delivered to my home. The piano looks incredible and sounds amazing. Being a picky person, I indicated to Todd one issue that I felt could be improved. Lindeblad Piano Restoration covers the first piano tunning. The piano tuning did not correct the issue so I contacted Todd and sent a video indicating what I did not like with the sound. Within and hour I was contacted and told not to worry, a second person would come to my house and adjust the piano. The Technicians from Lindeblad Piano Restoration contacted the tuner and discussed how do adjust the piano accordingly. The piano tuner showed up within a week and made the adjustments. I am now completely satisfied with how the piano sounds. There are places that ones you get a product, they wash their hands of the customer. Not at Lindeblad. They took the time to ensure the piano met my expectations to the fullest which makes me realize I made the right decision buying my piano from them. If in the future I decide to go with an upgrade, I will be contacting them once again.
I very rarely write reviews but this entire experience from start to finish was so outstanding that I need to share! I initially worked with Todd and he was extremely knowledgeable. He was able to answer all of the questions I had as well as guide me through the process in selecting the correct size, sound, finish, literally every single detail. The communication was prompt and the service was beyond what I ever could have imagined. The entire team including the men who delivered the piano were incredible. Our piano is absolutely gorgeous!!
I bought a Steinway m with spirio from Lindeblad (it was shipped across the country) and it’s been an excellent experience! They are prompt to respond to any questions you have and make sure you are satisfied with your piano. I had several things to fix up after receiving it but didn’t have to worry because Lindeblad was so helpful in everything. If you are concerned about getting a used piano, I would trust Lindeblad and go for it! Here is a photo of it in my home. Don’t have much furnitures yet but I already know the piano will be the most beautiful thing!
In the mid 80s my wife and I decided that we needed a better piano. Our four young children were showing musical talent and our upright Baldwin Monarch was, truthfully, inadequate. So I began searching for a perfect piano. After "auditioning" dozens of pianos in several cities, a 1928 Steinway M captured our hearts. It was at our local Steinway dealer, on consignment from a retired professor. The sounds produced were truly, magically thrilling. Last year our piano tuner told us that he could no longer keep it in tune. There was just too much wear on too many parts. He told us we needed to have our piano completely restored. So, I began a second search, interviewing people at half-a-dozen restoration shops, including at Steinway's new restoration center in Iowa. Everyone of these people involved in piano restoration was genuinely nice and was happy to accommodate my many questions. One shop really seemed to stand out, Lindeblad, So, I made an appointment to visit their workshop in northern New Jersey and booked a flight to Newark, rented a car and drove over. I could not have been more impressed. Their shop is in a very old and expansive building on a hillside in a charming village, with very friendly craftspeople focusing intently on producing best quality restoration. Cases over here. Soundboards in the next bay. Movements being rebuilt in the bay after that. On, and on. There must have been at least 50 or 60 or more fine instruments there, and perhaps twenty master craftspeople--each a specialist in a different part of the piano. Several were members of the Lindeblad family and many others had worked at Steinway for years before Steinway moved their restoration department away from New York. Lindeblad flawlessly transported our piano from our living room to their shop, and back. It now sounds even better than it did 40 years ago, with more clarity, volume, and responsiveness. I've been told that a 1928 M model grand piano is a product of Steinway's golden age. Of this I am sure: Our piano is now one of the best sounding pianos anywhere. I am so glad we discovered and chose Lindeblad.
Lindeblad Piano Restoration is the absolute best place to purchase the perfect piano for yourself, family or studio. As a first time buyer of a Steinway, I was not sure what I was getting myself into… all I knew is I wanted the perfect piano at a fair market price. It was a gift for my granddaughter that’s been playing since she was 6 years old, and now 10 years later is an accomplishment pianist. Therefore, I needed the piano to sound as lovely in our home as it does when she plays in a professional sound studio. I can truly say I was nervous… wanting to buy the right piano for her. I have looked everywhere, at local piano studios and even driven several hours to test various pianos, but couldn’t find a high quality piano at a reasonable market price. He listened to my request and found the perfect Steinway M that met our requirements of quality and price. I could not ask for an easier, kinder person to work with in my search. Todd is a professional and very knowledgeable of a verity of piano brands and models. And, he understood exactly what I was looking to buy my granddaughter. Todd sent me a link to the “1973 Steinway M” in his show room, so I could listen to the sound and view it’s beautiful cabinetry. I was amazed at the sound and appearance of this beautiful masterpiece, but would it sound the same in my parlor? It did… it sounds amazing and better than I expected… it was everything it was advertised to be and more. I purchased the 1973, Steinway Model M, witch occupies a cherished place for many in the Steinway spectrum of grand pianos. At 5’7”, the Model M is situated between the smaller (5’1”) Model S and the larger (5’10”) Model O. Steinway has called the M their Studio Grand. “The Model M still retains a sound that richly fills my home without being overwhelming. This is due to its Steinway perfect condition soundboard. Its responsive action produces a touch that can engage any style of music. The delivery was scheduled with precision timing. The delivery was on time and setup was done perfectly. I can’t thank the Lindeblad team enough for making my purchase as seamless as possible. My Granddaughter played her new piano as soon as it arrived and was set up. We could not tell it traveled from so far and still sounds excellent. My local technician came by to look at my new 1973 Steinway M… he couldn’t believe it played so beautiful and was in such perfect condition as promised me by Todd Lindeblad. When my elderly neighbor moved away in May 2021, I bought her 1925 Steinway Model M. She had been given the piano as an engagement present in 1961, and they're still married, so it's not only a lovely piano, it has a lovely story! She took great care of this piano and it showed, but nevertheless, it was tired. The case was cloudy and dull, the ivory keys were in good shape but dirty, the harp had some pock marks and chips as well as the piano needing some routine maintenance. I'm so happy I found Lindeblad while I was considering whether or not to buy her piano. From the moment I talked to Todd, I was sure the piano - and I - were in good hands. Lindeblad arranged for movers to pick up the piano from my neighbor's and took it back to New Jersey for a complete restoration. It was hard to be patient, but I knew real artisans were at work. I took delivery of my restored Steinway last week, and it is even more beautiful than I could have imagined. It is gleaming. It looks like a brand new 1925 piano, and it plays and sounds amazing. It is an absolute dream. I cannot thank Lindeblad enough for their meticulous work and care. The customer service is top-notch with everyone I was in contact with being very responsive and helpful. I always dreamed of owing a Steinway baby grand piano. I know that buying a used instrument comes with a lot of unknowns and potential negative surprises.
