Insurance Claims Service - Expert Piano Evaluations

We Ensure Your Claim is Handled Correctly

If you have an insurance claim involving piano damage, Lindeblad Piano Restoration will serve as your aid in the insurance claim. We created this service because most people (piano owners & claims adjusters) do not have the knowledge or experience to properly report on the intricacies of a piano. We offer our expertise to provide a fair and thorough report for your claim.

We have the depth and experience needed to properly repair a piano. We are the largest restorer of pianos in North America, specializing in the refinishing & rebuilding of Grand and Upright pianos.

Being the largest restorer of pianos in North America, our approach in restoration is to use genuine parts, installed by the most skilled craftsmen in the industry and providing a national reach. We are also the largest Steinway restorer in the country making up 200+ restorations annually.

Musical Instrument, not Furniture!

Many do not see pianos as musical instruments like that of a guitar, violin, or drums in insurance claims. They see pianos as furniture and insurance carriers commonly send furniture appraiser assigned to evaluate the piano. However, a piano cannot be repaired or refinished within the same time frame or costs structures as household furniture.

Pianos are among the most highly priced musical instruments, and are made from over 10,000 moving parts. Our Claims Service involves a process that provides an onsite evaluation, in depth report of its current condition, potential scope of repairs, repair cost and replacement value.

We’re Experienced in Piano Damage Claims

We have represented clients and carriers across the U.S. in order to handle claims stemming from

  • Mishandling or mishaps during moving
  • Fire, soot, and smoke damage
  • Malicious intent
  • “Acts of God” including hurricanes, and tornadoes
  • Water damage issues, ranging from simple leaky pipes up to floods

Steps to begin our Claims Service Process

  1. Send us the details on the piano such as brand, model, serial number, and photos to pre-evaluate the condition (see photo examples below, and see this page for help finding the serial number).
  2. Set up a time to talk with us to see if we are the right fit for you and your situation.

If we were to move forward, then the next steps are:

  1. Send us contact information on all parties involved.
  2. We schedule a technician to make an on-site evaluation of your piano.
  3. We prepare a detailed report of damage, necessary restoration or repairs, and estimate of the replacement value.
  4. We submit the report to you and to your insurance company (if applicable).
  5. We follow up with the insurance company to walk them through the report and answer their questions.
Piano Sizes

Pianos are sophisticated musical instruments with over 10,000 moving parts. This sets them apart from household furniture.
